Ludhiana
- Rakh Bagh Park : A beautiful picnic spot with lush green
surroundings. Minitrain joyride is an added attraction.
- Nehru Rose Garden : A treasure house of beautiful flowers
and greenery, this garden is near College Road, Civil
Lines. Mini zoo and boating facilities make the visit simply exhilirating.
- Tiger Safari : Situated on GT Road (Ludhiana-Jalandhar
Highway), it is 6 kms from the main city. Majestic tigers roaming
about in the dense jungle offer a thrilling experience.
- Sarai At Doraha : Situated South of Ludhiana-Khanna road
at Doraha, a visit to this sarai is a journey back into time.
The traditional hamam system for boiling water and octagonal openings
in the ceiling presumeably for light and ventilation-are interesting
features.
- Queen's Flower Tourist Resort, Neelon : Situated on Ludhiana-Chandigarh
highway on the bank of Sirhind canal, it is 18 Kms. from Ludhiana.
This resort has 6 well furnished A.C. and Non A.C. double rooms.
A beautiful restaurant with an equally swell bar,lush lawns and
serene sitouts on the bank of the canal are the main attractions

- Bhakhra Nangal : Built on river Sutlej, it is the highest dam of its kind in the world.
This dam supplies power to the whole of North India.
Gobind Sagar - the 40 square Km. reservoir of the
main dam at Bhakhra has a restaurant as well as boating facilities
- Anandpur Sahib : Anandpur Sahib is a religious place of historic significance. It is one of the four takhts (Seats of
Temporal Power) of the Sikh religion. Baptism of the followers of Khalsa-'the casteless brotherhood of saint soldiers' took place at
Anandpur Sahib.
Amritsar
Amrit Ka Sarovar (A Pool of Nectar) is the holy city of
Punjab. It was founded by Guru Ramdas, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs. A
town dotted with sacred spots, it offers a soulful respite to many a
world-weary people. History buffs, too, would find Amritsar an interesting
place.
- Golden Temple : An architectural splendour, it is a pilgrimage centre
for the Sikh community. Free kitchen(Langar) and chanting of the 'Divine
Word'(Gurbani) are always in progress here.
- Akal Takht : A seat of temporal authority, it signifies the harmony of spiritural and temporal life.
The Sixth Guru, Sri Har Gobind, got it constructed in 1609.
- Tower Of Baba Atal Rai : This 50 mts. high nine-storeyed building was built in commemoration of Baba Atal
Rai, Guru Har Gobind's son. Magnificent frescoes depicting the life events of Guru Nanak Dev Ji grace its walls.
- Jalianwala Bagh : Renowned as the 'Martyrs' Memorial', this is the place where nearly 2000 persons participating in a peaceful meeting
fell to the bullets of General Dyer in 1919.
- Durgiyana Temple : Resembling the architectural elegance of the Golden Temple, it is located outside the
'Lohgarh Gate'.
- Mosque at Fatehabad : It is 40 Kms. from Amritsar. The walls of this mosque are covered with beautiful
frescoes.
- Summer Palace Of Maharaja Ranjit Singh : It is situated in the centre of picturesque Rambagh Garden at Amritsar.
Only Darshani Deorhi-an architectural marvel, remains intact. A museum showcasing oil paintings, miniatures, coins and weapons associated with the Sikh period is the other attraction.
- Taran Taran : A town founded by Sri Guru Arjan Dev in 1590, it is 24 Kms. south of Amritsar.
The Gurudwara built by Guru Arjan Dev holds a deep religious significance.
- Goindwal : Regarded as the centre of Moksha(Liberation), Goindwal is just a few Kms. from Taran-Taran.
It was here that Guru Amar Devji set up a centre for Sikh teachings. The main draw is the baoli paved well with 84 steps.
It is believed that by reciting 'Japji sahib' at each step after taking a purification bath liberates one from the cycles of Birth and Death.
- Khadur Sahib : Not for away from Goindwal is Khadur Sahib. It is aproxiamtely 32 Kms. from Amritsar.
It was the centre of Sikhism at the time of Guru Angad Dev.
- Ram Tirath : Situated on Choganwan road, it is 16 Kms. west of Amritsar. Maharishi Balmiki's hermitage
is the main fascination. Every Kartika-Puranmashi (full-moon night in November),a fair is organised for 4 days.
- Dera Baba Jaimal Singh : A unique self-sufficient colony on the bank of Beas, it is about 54 Kms.
east of Amritsar. This place is the home of Radhaswami sect. Their head is a Guru who is regarded as God incarnate
(by the Radhaswamis).
- Baba Bakala : It is an impressive Gurudwara situated on the Batala Road about 45 Kms. east of Amritsar.
This is the spot where Guru Teg Bahadur revealed himself to a Sikh devotee-Makhan Shah Labana. People visit this place on Amavasya
(moonless night). On Raksha Bandhan day, an annual fair is held and lakhs throng to the Baba Bakala Gurudwara.
- Harike Wetland : Situated between Amritsar and Ferozepur, this wildlife sanctuary is a favourite resort of 350 species
of birds from China, Siberia,Afghanistan and Pakistan.
